今、一年間に九州と四国をあわせたくらいの面積が砂漠になってしまうという勢いで砂漠化が進んでいるそうです。
この砂漠化。
英語では desertification といいます。
今日はこれを英英辞典で見てみましょう。

作物ってことですね。
砂漠でも育つような作物もできてきているようですが、でも同時に砂漠化をくいとめるような策も必要ですね。
