[gold]
a valuable soft yellow metal that is used to make coins, jewellery etc.
(LDOCE)

Gold is a valuable, yellow-coloured metal that is used for making jewellery and ornaments, and as an international currency.
(COBUILD)

[silver]
a valuable shiny, light grey metal that is used to make jewellery, knives, coins etc.
(LDOCE)

Silver is a valuable pale grey metal that is used for making jewellery and ornaments.
(COBUILD)

[bronze]
a hard metal that is a mixture of copper and tin
(LDOCE)

Bronze is a yellowish-brown metal which is a mixture of copper and tin.
(COBUILD)

[copper]
a soft reddish-brown metal that allows electricity and heat to pass through it easily, and is used to make electrical wires, water pipes etc.
(LDOCE)

Copper is reddish brown metal that is used to make things such as coins and electrical wires.
(COBUILD)
