the capital city of France, on the River Seine, which is also the country’s business and financial centre. Many people think of Paris as a very romantic city where many famous artists lived, especially in the 19th and early 20th centuries. People from Paris are called Parisians.
(LDOCE)

[plaster of Paris]
Plaster of Paris is a type of plaster made from white powder and water which dries quickly. It is used to make plaster casts.
(COBUILD)

[plaster]
a substance used to cover walls and ceilings with a smooth, even surface. It consists of lime, water, and sand.
(LDOCE)

Plaster is a smooth paste made of sand, lime, and water which goes hard when it dries. Plaster is used to cover walls and ceilings and is also used to make sculptures.
(COBUILD)
